The many faces of Iceland
The many faces of Iceland
SEPTEMBER
Iceland – waterfalls, geysers, warm lagoons with mineral water, glaciers, whales, fjords – all this is in our programme on the island.
A piece of land thrown almost at the Arctic Circle, Iceland offers a variety of natural attractions on its relatively small territory. Our trip will introduce you to most of them as we make a full circuit of the island. We will see one of the biggest waterfalls in Europe, enter the longest tunnel dug in a glacier, climb a mountain peak in the Eyjafjörður fjord and meet the whales on its shores.
Note: * We will promptly send a list of the necessary equipment to everyone enrolled in the program. If you’re missing any of it, we can help. What we keep as a minimum are comfortable, closed hiking boots with a firmer sole.
* Registration takes place no later than 10 days before the start of the event or until places are exhausted. The reservation is considered confirmed when payment is made within 3 days of registration.

Guide's Perspective
A tiny piece of land hurled into the ocean almost at the Arctic Circle, Iceland is the country of geysers, volcanoes, waterfalls and landscapes almost from another planet. Our journey there includes all of this, as we make a full circle of the island.
Reykjavik. Arrival by late flight and overnight at hotel in Reykjavík.
South. Our first day of traveling around Iceland will be quite busy. We'll see lava, explore a cave on the ocean shore, check if diamonds are real at Diamond Beach, and walk into the belly of a glacier. Overnight in Hof, family guest house.
North. Today will start with a long transfer that will take me to Godafoss waterfall. We will visit the lunar landscape of nearby geysers, the crater of an extinct volcano and bathe in a warm mineral lagoon. Evening transfer to Akureyri and overnight in a house.
Walking tour. Today we will stretch our legs a bit with a walk to Kaldbakur peak (1173m). However, we start from sea level. Amazing views of the fjord and the "Troll Peninsula" - this is our reward for the day.
back to Reykjavik and departure. We have a long way back to the capital (6 hours). We will take time to walk the streets of Reykjavík before boarding the plane.
What Our Guests Say
Thank the snow gods, then thank Stan
The snow gods were kind this weekend — that's on them, not me. But Stan and the Basecamp Tours crew being absolutely dialled in? That's every single time, no asterisk. Smart route choices, safety that never feels paranoid, and feedback that actually makes you better. The snow is a gamble. Basecamp Tours is not.
