Canada – Skiing in the Heart of British Columbia – Nelson Edition

February

A ski adventure in one of the world’s most iconic ski touring destinations. Jump into the deep end with us and be part of the big game. Are you ready?

Welcome to the Mecca of deep Canadian powder – British Columbia (BC). This exclusive ski touring program combines two of North America’s most iconic and wild destinations: the rugged alpine terrain of Rogers Pass and the cozy, authentic culture of Nelson. In a single trip, you will transition from perfectly spaced tree lines to vast alpine bowls. Ready to make the leap with us?

February is the golden month for this region. This is when the snowpack reaches its peak, and the temperatures guarantee that dry, weightless snow for which British Columbia is world-renowned.

Rogers Pass: Monumental high-alpine terrain. Long approaches, massive alpine bowls, and epic descents with over 1,000 meters of vertical drop. Rogers Pass is a mountain pass along the Trans-Canada Highway where it crosses the Selkirk Mountains. All ski touring zones lie within the boundaries of Glacier National Park, which ensures a pristine environment free of snowmobiles and helicopters.

Kootenay Pass and Valhalla Park: Legendary destinations for every dedicated ski touring enthusiast. Here, we will enjoy skiing through spaced old-growth forests and alpine cirques.

Revelstoke and Nelson are the two mountain towns that will host us during our Canadian adventure. Both carry their own distinct culture, vibe, and culinary delights.

Who is this trip for? This trip is designed for skiers and snowboarders with solid backcountry experience, excellent physical fitness for full-day touring on skins, and a desire to discover the true, wild character of the Canadian mountains. The vertical gain on tours varies between 800 and 1,300 meters per day.

* Registration deadline: No later than 50 days before the start of the trip, or until spots are filled. The booking is considered confirmed upon payment within 3 days of registration.

* Flexibility: We reserve the right to modify the itinerary to ensure maximum safety for the group, depending on the specific weather and snow conditions.

* Single occupancy (subject to availability) is available at an additional charge of €50 per night.

Guide's Perspective

British Columbia (Canada) is my favorite ski touring destination. It’s a place that attracts you like a magnet and captivates you with its sheer scale, deep powder, long lines, perfectly spaced old-growth forests, and that peaceful sense of the mountains and connection with nature. Rogers Pass and Nelson (Valhalla) look straight out of a ski movie – magical, yet completely real!

What Our Guests Say

★★★★★
Thank the snow gods, then thank Stan

The snow gods were kind this weekend — that's on them, not me. But Stan and the Basecamp Tours crew being absolutely dialled in? That's every single time, no asterisk. Smart route choices, safety that never feels paranoid, and feedback that actually makes you better. The snow is a gamble. Basecamp Tours is not.
