Iceland — one of the most visited destinations in recent years among nature and outdoor enthusiasts. Summer is the active tourist season there, when over 3–4 months it becomes a magnet for volcanoes, waterfalls, geysers and thermal springs, glaciers, wildlife and plant life.
But few people know that alongside all of the above, Iceland is also a wonderful destination for ski touring enthusiasts. The Troll Peninsula is where Basecamp Tours will take you.

Located in northern Iceland, it offers everything ski touring needs — varied terrain with easy access; great snow conditions after the touring season in Bulgaria ends; incredible views and descents toward the ocean; peace and a feast for the senses.

This program is suitable for everyone, including people with less touring experience. The base for the stay will be a wonderful Icelandic-style house located on the ocean shore in the village of Grenivík.

From there, each day the group sets off in a different direction, with tours taking around 6 hours. The house offers everything you need to unwind after a day on skis, and the hot tub on the veranda is simply the cherry on top.

Of course, the program also includes visits to some of the island’s other highlights, making the journey truly complete.

Ski touring in Iceland is a journey for anyone who wants to look beyond the boundaries of Bulgarian mountains and touch the beauty of distant Iceland.
