Second steps in ski touring
February
You already have basic ski touring knowledge and want to consolidate and build on your skills – this program is exactly for that.
This is the second of the three levels of the Basecamp Tours ski touring training program.
If you have already been out on skis in the winter mountains but are not yet confident in your uphill and downhill technique or in handling the equipment, this program is for you! Mastering these skills takes time and proper training. We know how important it is that this happens in a professional and safe environment where you gain knowledge and experience – without doubt the formula that works best.
The main idea of the Second steps is full-day ski tours to refine and build on your walking and skiing technique in ungroomed terrain. Along the way we assess snow conditions, discuss rules for moving in the winter mountains and, of course, avalanche safety. In two words – useful and fun! And as in all our programs, our final goal is your smiling faces.
Ski touring has been our passion for years, and we want to bring more people to it, because we believe the mountains are a place for the truly free.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us in advance.
Package price for the whole module (3 weekends): €390 – for this option write to us at info@basecamp.tours.

What Our Guests Say
An amazing touring weekend!
We had an amazing touring weekend in Rila with Stanislav as a guide. Although weather and conditions were tricky, he found the right route and lines for our (very mixed level of stamina and skiing technique) group so at the end we had huge smiles on. Feelings of safety and friendly atmosphere add up to the experience, which I would definitely recommend and chose for myself again!
Thank the snow gods, then thank Stan
The snow gods were kind this weekend — that's on them, not me. But Stan and the Basecamp Tours crew being absolutely dialled in? That's every single time, no asterisk. Smart route choices, safety that never feels paranoid, and feedback that actually makes you better. The snow is a gamble. Basecamp Tours is not.
